Types of Camera shots
Project 2: 1-3 min with sound due week 7. The theme is “Personal Diary”. This diary can be an activity or aspect of your life (for example, doing martial arts, or walking your dog where something interesting happens beyond just walking the dog, such as falling in love with another dog owner), a fantasy (winning the lottery), a dream (going to the moon) or a fear (being hacked on social media – this can be funny or nightmarish).
Format: 1920 x 1080 at 24fps.
In-Class Assignment:
– Write a pitch for project 2.
Break up into groups and discuss your story with your class mates for feedback. Once your story is ready upload to your blog with #project 2 pitch.
– Create a contact sheet with your classmates information. Similar schedules or proximity to home location can be helpful. Agree with your classmates when and how to help each other with your shooting. If equipment such as camera or lights is necessary to rent from QC, arrange to share with your classmates.
– Create a storyboard for project 2, and upload to your blog with #project2 storyboard. This will count as #assignment 3.
– Editing Exercise
Homework:
– Finish your storyboard and upload to your blog with #project2 storyboard and #assignment 3.
– Create a Shot List according to your storyboard.
– Develop a shooting schedule according to your storyboard, characters, locations, camera angles and time of day.
– Go out and shoot. Bring your external drive with your footage to class.
-Include shot descriptions in your project 1 photo storyboard.
Upload photo storyboard to your blog with the descriptions and email me.
Upload finished PDF photo storyboard on dropbox.
