In-Class Assignment:
– Discuss your story for Project 3. Pitch your self portrait idea in groups. Workshop each other’s ideas. Write a paragraph describing your idea and post it on your blog with #project 3 idea.
– Editing Exercise
Project 3:
“Self Portrait”. This can mean whatever you can imagine. The piece can be a documentary, experimental or narrative in style. Choose one of the following:
– Create a “self-portrait”
– Create a portrait of someone that you are not related to or close friends with. Perhaps it is a member of your community. Maybe someone you admire. Or simply someone you are curious about.
– Write and direct a narrative fictional film, set in one or two locations with at least two characters.
Start planning your project. Decide whether you want to script or assemble your self-portrait. Begin writing, storyboarding and gathering assets: digital artifacts, music and sounds, b-roll, textures, schedule interviews, location shoots, asking your classmates for help. Think about how you want to plan your production. Come to class with your script and/or storyboards.
Homework:
-Develop a script and draw a storyboard for project 3. Upload your scripts and storyboards with #project 3 storyboard and #project 3 script. These will count as assignment 4.
